I wanted to go to this school the most, and I didn't get in then. The years that followed were Hell. I went through a lot. A lot worse. Everything got so much worse. 16 years of torment. An absolute nightmare. Hell. Hell. Hell. But....there is a motto called Hail O Cross Our Only Hope. I was viciously and maliciously crucified for 16 miserable hopeless years, from 2007-2023. But it eventually ended. And I was finally able to make my first feature. Everything I went through during that time period was the inspiration and basis for the 13 features I wrote, produced, and directed. Now here I am. When I received a notification letter out of the blue from this university a month ago, I was shocked to read it as an acceptance letter. That this university, this school, finally accepted me. It was also an invitation to be here in person while you guys were screening a marathon of my films. Then I was reminded of the Statue of Liberty. Give me your tired, your poor. Give me those on the Cross. Give me those who are crucified. Regardless of all the hell and torment I've been through, I humbly recognize that I still don't deserve to be here. I'm not worthy to be here. And I am aware that my 13 feature films throughout my career have made a lot of enemies. But my colleagues pointed out that my 13 films have won over most of the world. That's what matters. And all of you here in attendance decided I should be here. I'm 90 years old, and I'm surprised I lasted this long. It is a miracle that I'm here. It's a miracle that I had the best and most successful film directing career in the world. There were so many times that I was expected to die at any time during those years from 2003-2023. But I survived. I'm here for a reason. As I currently exist. Me. In the flesh.
